Pueblo del Rio

Glorify the LORD with me;   let us exalt his name together. Ps. 34:3

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be
thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give
him will never be thirsty again.  The water I will give him will
become a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water,
so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here again.”

This afternoon we spent time with the people of Pueblo del Rio.  Two years ago there was no church building or a pastor in this village.   God has done much in this little village.  In February 2012 the church was built.  In February 2013
the well was constructed.  How exciting that the place the people come to get clean drinking water is right next to the church where they can find THE living water! On the church wall you will see in Spanish “Not I, But Christ.”  That same quote is on the TRBC church wall each Sunday.   We pray that Christ will be magnified and lifted up in every way in this village.

Lord, prepare my heart to worship You today.   Empty me of everything that needs to go and please fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Ground Breaking

Pastor Martin serves in Pueblo del Rio. The Training Center will equip pastors across the country.

Reading Hosea 10:12

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love;
break up your fallow ground,   for it is the time to seek the Lord,
that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

The  prophet uses the example of farming to help his audience understand preparing the ground of their hearts for a fruitful crop.  Finney said:

“To break up the fallow ground therefore, is to bring the mind into such a state that it is fitted to receive the Word of God. Sometimes your hearts get matted down, hard and dry, until there is no such thing as getting fruit from them until they are broken up, and mellowed down, and fitted to the Word. It is this softening of the heart, so as to make it feel the truth, which the prophet calls break up your fallow ground.”

This morning we will participate in the Ground Breaking of the Jerry Falwell Center for Ministry Training.   A ceremony will take place where the ground will be loosened symbolically – not for farming – but for construction.  This center will be the training ground for pastors and leaders that will impact Guatemala and the world.  Men and women will come for training – and they will gather to have the ground of their hearts loosened so that God can begin construction in their hearts for His Kingdom work.

God wants to begin this work in our hearts today.

Why need any pastor or church fail to share in the blessing? How sad the experience of that worker who sees others greatly used in such a movement and himself passed   by—other fields rejoicing with the joy of harvest while his still lies barren and unfruitful! It need not be so. Let us break up our fallow ground, seek a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit, and then move forward, expecting great things of God. – D.L. Moody

Today 2/18/14 God invites us to break up our fallow ground.

What does groundbreaking look like for you today?
