Storms of Life …

Earlier this week, the world watched as Hurricane Isaac approached New Orleans on the 7 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

While students were evacuated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Campus, a team remained behind to weather the storm.  My cousin, Rhonda Kelley, posted on her Facebook,

“Winds are strong. Rain is blowing. We are safe (though no power) at home.  Thank you, Lord for protection and peace in all storms of life!”

Did you sing  The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock as a kid?   The rains will come in this life, but when our faith is built on the solid ground of Jesus Christ our foundation will stand.

Mitchell made this craft in Sunday School probably when he was 3 years old.
A few years, while in a particularly rough trial, I put it in on the ledge of our kitchen window to remind me to “Cry Out to the Lord!”

Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. – Matthew 7: 24

You can read the latest update on the status NOBTS following the storm.  Please pray for all those who are working to restore power and meet the needs of the people in the area.

Do you have any loved ones in the path of a storm? Are you in a storm? How does that change your prayer life?
