I enjoy collecting little churches. This ornament
reminds me of my home church in Dixon’s Mill’s, Alabama. Last Sunday I was able to attend the Christmas Cantata at Central Baptist Church and I loved hearing friends and family sing “2000 Decembers ago.”
I have so many wonderful memories from this church…Grandmama Cogle on the front left side … Aunt Jane and fabulous flannel graph stories … missionaries from every where in the world … “Sword and the Switchblade” and “A Thief in the Night” at New Year’s Eve services … Vacation Bible School… our wedding …
Great memories – but my church and family left me with so much more than memories. Webster’s defines heritage as “something transmitted by or acquired from a predecessor.” As Christians – we can leave an eternal heritage. Beginning with Christmas 2010 – leave someone you love a gift that money can’t buy- an eternal heritage.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
